| National Dog Week was established in 1928 by William Lewis Judy, a dog fancier who also helped create the Dog Writer’s Association of America.
It is a week focused on the celebration of all canines in the nation. It is also a great excuse for dog lovers to go all out and get that extra dog bed, dog strollers . . . whatever they couldn’t quite justify. So, enjoy, take your dog out for extra dog hikes and long leisurely walks, and think about all the dogs in shelters that are in need of a forever home. They could use a bag of food, a spare blanket, your old towels. |
